Timo Koivumäki has previously worked as Research Professor of Mobile Business at VTT and at the University of Oulu, as Professor of Information and Communication Business at the University of Oulu, and as Research Professor and University Researcher of Electronic Commerce at the University of Oulu.
Koivumäki is Adjunct Professor in Marketing at Oulu Business School, specialized in Digital Service Business.
Koivumäki's research interests include consumer behaviour in e-commerce, m-commerce and digital environments, user-driven innovation, e-business, m-business, mobile marketing, digital economy and business, information goods and strategic networking.
Koivumäki has participated in numerous national and international research and development projects as a researcher and project manager, as well as published research results in international outlets.
