Futuralis – Future of digital business

Futuralis is a cross-disciplinary research group established at Martti Ahtisaari Institute, focusing on exploring digital futures and the creation and transformation of businesses in the context of smart technologies and the society.

Futuralis is specifically addressing the creation of innovative business models in next generation unstructured open innovation ecosystems for providing personalized digital services.

The group comprises a cross-disciplinary set of different research competences covering several scientific domains, methodological approaches, theoretical perspectives and empirical contexts. Futuralis spans across the boundaries by collaborating with sevaral different reserch units of the University of Oulu, as well as with other universities in Finland and abroad, VTT and other sector research institutions.

Internationally it has a close relationships with Aalborg University (Denmark), Galway Business School (Ireland), Lancaster Business School (UK), Dundalk Institute of Technology (Ireland), SIRRIS (Belgium), and Institute Mines Telecom (France), among others.
