Martti Ahtisaari Institute

Martti Ahtisaari Institute, established in 2008, is a research and education unit within Oulu Business School at the University of Oulu.  The institute conducts research and development activities to create new knowledge on responsible business and global economy.

The Institute operates through research and development projects, selected research groups, a doctoral research scholarship prorgamme, executive education programmes and a minor in entrepreneur education. In addition, the institute arranges annually events that provide a forum for discussions and a platform for new insights into the development of the economy and business life.

The institute has played a central role in the establishment and management of Business Kitchen, an incubation and development arena for new businesses. Moreover, it planned and conducted activities for the AACSB accreditation of Oulu Business School, and continues to support the subsequent quality management and improvement operations, including the related international collaboration.

The institute is an active member in Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative (GRLI), a network involving academic and industrial parties from many different countries, all interested in sustainable and responsible business.

Our key activities in the past years are described in the annual reports of Oulu Business School
